Vlad was photographed outside the Festival Of Steve - An event celebrating Melbourne's Modern Man that took part at The Kelvin Club last weekend. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a shot of his Florsheim by Duckie Brown beaded leather brogues. These grained black leather wingtip derby's feature a medallion toe and woven multicolor beading detail, finished on a leather sole.

  This ABC journalist was wary of letting us shoot his whole look, but we still had to get a shot of these  Stacy Adams Crocodile print and smooth cream kid skin Wing Tip's that he had purchased in shoes from San Antonio, Texas.

The Stacy Adams Shoe Company was founded in 1875 in Brockton, Massachusetts, United States, by William H. Stacy and Henry L. Adams. The company's wares have an emphasis on urban style, including modern zoot suits.

David was waiting coffee in hand for a tram on St Kilda Road when we stopped him, wearing a distinctive (& instantly recognisable) pair of Grenson Fred's.

We've been hearing about the Florsheim collaboration with Ducky Brown and looking forward to seeing the product on the street.  I know we all feast on new school footwear news, but when one of the old guard like Florsheim reinforces the quality ethic, turns it up a notch and brings in some fresh thinking from someone like Ducky Brown it's just good for everyone.  We caught Paul brightening up a beautiful Autumn Friday morning outside Neapoli in Russell Place and couldn't resist.

We see Shane around from time to time, generally understated but always sharp.   He obviously knows a thing or two about cuts, materials and quality.  Not too under the radar, not too over the top.  We like this emerging genre; Melbourne guys that were probably skaters or who are perhaps in creative and who still rock their stuff, but in a more subtle way.  The DSquared2 in full grain navy calf the cherry on a very nice little cake.

Australian based label Henry Carter launched their AW13 range of Italian handmade ties at boutique tailor Ludlows this week. Ludlows Director Richard Phan invited Shoemakers of Melbourne along to the launch where some of Melbourne's best dressed men were in attendance.

Last night saw some of Melbourne's best dressed men gather at Henry Bucks on Collins Street to celebrate the launch of Melbourne based shoe designer Christian Kimber's debut footwear collection.

Alongside Melbourne's resurgence of high quality hand made footwear has come one of the strongest packs of new-school tailors in Mebourne's recent memory.  Young craftsmen classically trained with a passion for fabrics, an understanding of what a younger customer wants and a head full of contempory ideas.  Chris Edwards is one such tailor.  One half of Melbourne tailoring duo Oscar Hunt, Chris is your go-to man when it comes to putting your wardrobe together.  He doesn't mind keeping it casual either.  Chris wearing Grenson's tan calf  Tom oxfords on a balmy evening in Melbourne.

Sometimes the stars align - Your path crosses with a stylish gentleman, he's wearing a fine pair of Grenson Dylan's in Cobalt Suede, you ask to take his picture, he agrees & he just so happens to be Barry Humphries. One of Melbourne's most iconic (& sylish) figures, the former Dame Edna character actor was an absolute delight to shoot despite suffering from serious jetlag.
