Makers of Melbourne

Welcome to Makers Of Melbourne – the ‘go to’ guide for our technically integrated age.

Makers Of Melbourne has been created to consume and assimilate Melbourne culture. We're male focussed, but not male specific, sorting through the dross to weed out the creative stars, standout events and stylish folk that make this city unique.

MOM aims to embrace all facets of what makes this city a creative hub. Our aim is to inform without condescending – to keep you abreast of what’s going on without regurgitating Press Releases & to seek out this city’s sub cultures to give our readers the inside scoop on what’s REALLY happening with the people who make Melbourne Melbourne.

Daniel Vintage Style

A fantastic thing about Melbourne in the Summer is the art world reaches out and meets you in the streets, the parks, the gardens and in the most unexpected places.  The statues of King George and Queen Victoria in the Botanical Gardens painted flourescent orange last spring was absolute genius (why they returned them to white we will never know), so when we caught physical comedian Daniel in action on the corner of Flinders Street in his sharp blue suit and vintage purple brogues we just couldn't resist.  Daniel was not only talented and clearly stylish, but was also gracious enough to stop on his way to a film shoot for a snap for Shoemakers.

Oaks day is ladies' day at Flemington - for most men the ultimate sartorial motivator. With the sun out, we noticed the most eye catching footwear on the guys who decided to break with traditional racewear & flaunt a bit of personality.

Daniel Winter Maurizi

Sometimes the most understated guys are the hardest to catch.. Daniel was flying up Collins St last week and you needed a keen eye to spot these beautiful Maurizi full grain sadles he was wearing.  This type of clean, classic and top-quality shoe is being seen more and more in Melbourne, which is great news for the shoe guys, and gives men like Daniel the opportunity to run a shoe like a sadle without taking it over the top.   He may look deadly serious, but we took the chance and landed another major shoe lover.
